Michele's Simply Sweet Historical Moment

I thought it was amazing for my cake pops to be put into a mini-mart in town. Then, another store owner agreed to put them in theirs. Now, a distributor has asked me to put some in stores all over town. Today marks an historical moment for my little business.

I just completed my first shipment to four new mini-marts in Klamath Falls. I am beyond excited and excited to see what the future holds for Michele's Simply Sweet.

Cake Pop explosion

This whole month has been a crazy cake pop month. Almost as soon as I get them made, I sell them! It's so much fun! Sadly, I'm out of cake now. My case is full to overflowing with so many cake pop flavors! Now that I have this big selection, it's time to stock the freezers.

I have two big bazaars in 2 1/2 weeks and I need to get some pops rolled and ready to go!

Ready for launch

Alright! The Kickstarter project is live again. This time it has a lower, more attainable goal.

I am a little bummed that I couldn't make the first goal, but maybe I will be blessed with reaching a goal that will enable me to purchase the oven I need, in addition to the ingredients I need. :)

Thank you for your help!

Kickstarter update

I had to cancel the Kickstarter project. I redid it with a lower goal and some additional information. Hopefully it will be up in the next day or two. I became frustrated because not only were there very few video views, I had no new pledges in about 4 days. I know a lot of people were visiting this blog, and they still are, which is totally awesome, but I really need to get a little boost financially so I can get ahead a little.

Once it is up, I'll update the blog with the new link. :)

I've set up a project on Kickstarter.com to try and raise some money to help me get ahead and stay ahead. If you're willing to help out, check it out, please. :)

Busy Business Update

Well, it's been awhile since I posted on here. Guess I'd best get with it!

I'm in my new shop and working like crazy. I've added new flavors since I opened and I'm so swamped that I've been able to hire someone part time.

I have the opportunity to place my cake pops in approximately 40 mini-mart/gas station markets in the area. It's a huge step that will keep me working non-stop and let me hire Cindy full time.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

Crazy busy

Well, if you don't already know... I have moved. A series of unfortunate events required me to leave the old place immediately. With the help of God, I was handed a new location that is 1,000 times better in so many ways.
I reopened on August 1 after a month of being closed. It has been insanely busy, busier than I was at the old place. But it is so much better and I get to see so many new people and I am across the street from one of the fire stations in town.
I'm down at the shop after three days of insane baking and decorating. I'm attempting to restock my empty cooler. I did some clean up since I didn't get a chance to last night, and I am wrapping up the second batch of raspberry cobbler cupcakes.
I'm improving with the decorations and finally succeeded in completing two fondant cakes with little to no tearing or folding. This is a HUGE step for me. Until now, I have hated fondant because it either folds or tears.
So, even though I'm busier than ever, I'm having a ball and enjoying life!

Open for Business

I have officially opened my doors for business! I have now been open for about 2 weeks and am already doing fairly well! The next two weeks promise to be completely insane, but fun. This weekend I am working a dog show and will be the primary sweets person present. Next Thursday is the first Third Thursday for Main Street, and as a shop owner on Main, I have a primo location. The following weekend is another dog show, though smaller, and I am again the primary sweets person present. So, I may have to sleep a week or so after that. Thankfully, I have two awesome employees that know their stuff and work their tushes off. I've also had some good help from friends, and things are going well.

Postponing the inevitable

Postponing the inevitable always refers to something awful, doesn't it? Well, tonight, it refers to something awesome, wonderful, and exciting!

I have acquired my first business license. I now have to wait for the Department of Agriculture to inspect, then I can OPEN!!!

It is all very exciting! So many things are going on, and I am so busy that I just can't fathom being any busier. I am loving the activity and am in awe of every amazing event that brings me that much closer to opening.

God truly blesses those He loves.

Bakery News

Well, my tentative grand opening date is April 13. It is a Saturday, so I am hoping I have hundreds of people come check it out. I am looking forward to this overwhelming challenge and can't wait to make it fun and exciting. :)

Long time, no post

Wow. Didn't realize it had been four months since I posted on here. I usually come on, work on the cake pops link, and leave. Between having colds and being extra busy (not at the same time!), I haven't had time to update the blog!

A lot has been happening lately. I've finally found a great location at an excellent price. It needs very minor work to get it ready, but I should be open in the next few weeks. I'm aiming for an April 15th Grand Opening, but I hope to be running before then.

It's been very exciting watching everything happen while I sit back and wait. I was given a very nice, new oven, possibly some counters, and enough money to buy a shelving unit. My dad is able to do some of the building stuff that needs to be done, move the bar from one side of the stairs to the other, and build a partial wall between myself and the other business I will be sharing the space with.

Life is very exciting indeed!
